Although Khara Perkins was introduced to yoga as a toddler in California and took a series of classes with passionate Iyengar teacher Ida Unger in her early twenties, it was not until 2003 that she would begin a regular practice of yoga with Bonnie Quiceno in Florida. In the following seven years with Bonnie she was able to practice a range of styles and techniques and experience first hand the benefits of prenatal yoga during her first two pregnancies. In 2010, after having recently relocated to Jamaica, Khara was blessed to study with her next teacher Subhadra Bowman of Yoga Angels and complete a 200 Hour Teacher Training Program (TTP) while pregnant with her third child. Since the birth of her third child she has continued to study and teach Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga. Khara, now pregnant with her fourth child, is also in the process of completing a 300 Hour TTP at Yoga Angels in Jamaica as well. Having always believed that planting the seeds of responsible and holistic living can start in any stage of life from birth to adulthood; she has found that yoga is a powerful tool in teaching awareness of self, others, and our environment, ensuring a healthier life and future for us all.
